Gangway is an equipment for jetty operators and crews to board and disembark from the vessel ships safely in the process ship mooring at modern large wharf. It is used to replace the traditional boarding ladder which is self-carried by the ship.During the development of the oil tanker wharf, the modern wharf for heavy oil tanker entering, especially the wharf sets up with isolated mound, its surface are not continous and its elevation is higher than the normal one. The oil tanker will jounce and drift frequently and with relatively large range.Due to the large fender of the wharf, the distance between the ship side and the jetty face is quite long. This problem is hard to be solved by the tanker's self-carried ladder as the ship side and the jetty face is quite long due to the large fender installed. Therefore, in order to speed up ship loading and unloading and ensure the safety of people getting on and off the tanker ship, it is an inevitable choice to replace the ship self-carried ladder with gangway. Just like marine loading arms, gangway has become an irreplaceable equipment used at more and more wharfs.

Despite its simple function, gangway must have good technical performance due to the environment in which it is located. In order to adapt to the conditions of constant turbulence between ship and shore, as well as possible contingencies, the design of gangway should be based on detailed analysis of the local hydrological and meteorological data as well as the relevant information of potential tanker ships, so as to determine its suitable operating conditions. Only by choosing the correct structure design and reliable safety protection measures can the desired purpose be achieved.

We will design the gangway based on the requirements from our client. Gangway is generally drived by mechanical and electro-hydraulic system. In order to ensure the safety of the transmission mechanism, various safety protection devices are set up according to the needs in the design, and explosion-proof electrical devices are selected according to the characteristics of the oil products in the dock operation.

Main Characteristics of Gangway

Easy to operate, flexible, stable, safe, reliable, and easy to maintain.  The front ladder is made of aluminum alloy, making it light and safe.  The steps are designed with four-link mechanism, the ladder could be moved in a range of-40° ~ 60° while keeping horizontal.  The triangle ladder and front ladder connects with single point, so that the land wheels can keep stedy contact with the ship deck, to avoid the affection of the ship turbulence and uneven deck.  Hydraulic system is well arranged with good sealing performance and easy to maintain.  The lifting mechanism has good locking performance with interlocking available.  The control cabinet is designed on the first floor of platform, so that the operation is intuitive and convenient.   All kinds of operations, such as the pitching of main and front ladder, triangle ladder in place, the lifting and slewing of the working platform can be completed here.  The electrical control system are developed independently by ourself, the main components are selectedwith famous international suppliers, which ensures good quality and performance.  Radio controller is available for easier operation.
